Limited entrance tomorrow night!

26 02 2010

Guys and Gals!

Get there early and avoid feeling like this guy who simply came too late!

This Feeling KL – tomorrow night (Saturday 27th of Feb) starts at 9PM, and due to the intimacy of the venue (Havana on Changkat Bukit Bintang) – we have a limit on how many people are allowed in. So may we suggest you get there at 9PM. We know what some of you are thinking – this seems like a marketing ploy – but honestly, we will have to end admission once we hit the capacity!

See you there for a great night with Jersey Budd, Mani (from Stone Roses & Primal Scream), Sl4ck and TAG!!

Get to known the man – Jersey Budd

23 02 2010

Genuine optimism is hard to come by these days, but Jersey Budd is one man that’s determined to put a bit of positivity back into pop. Standing on the shoulders of such giants as Dylan, Springsteen and Cat Stevens, this 24 year-old singer, songwriter and guitarist offers a genuine alternative to the current malaise, blowing away the cobwebs with a lethal combination of talent, charm and pure will.

Jersey Budd - will be playing a live acoustic set at February's edition of This Feeling KL

Still a virtual unknown at this stage, the new year offers Jersey a chance to shine. Forthcoming debut album ‘Wonderlands’ was recorded at the same time as fellow Leicester lads Kasabian were recording their third album, a stones throw away from Jersey’s studio. Tom Meighan, 3 school years above Jersey, contributing backing vocals to first single ‘She Came Back’. The album was mixed by Paul Stacey (Oasis, The Black Crowes) and mastered by Ian Cooper (Oasis, The Verve) both of whom were recommended to Jersey by Noel Gallagher.

Aside from his expressive, powerful voice and knack for a good melody, it’s Jersey’s unique take on rock history that makes his music so compelling. On ‘Shotgun Times’ he updates southern rock with contemporary string and horn arrangements, while ‘She Came Back’ shimmers with the 60’s finest harmonies, featuring the same handclaps and ‘Sha-La-Las’ that punctuated The Hollies’ finest moments.

Jersey has also broken new ground with his unconventional record deal: a partnership between Jersey, his fans and innovative new service Bandstocks. The brainchild of music lawyer Andrew Lewis and assisted by B-Unique and Vinyl Factory, Bandstocks offers fans unprecedented access to Jersey and his music in return for investment in the production and marketing of ‘Wonderlands’ – a perfect partnership for a man with unshakeable faith in his ability to connect.

Gifted yet grounded, Jersey Budd is a working class hero in the making, matching Lennon’s looks with The Boss’ penchant for the epic. We’re sure that his voice, songs and most importantly his lust for life, will make welcome additions to 2009’s musical landscape.

Upcoming star Jersey Budd chats to Absolute Radio’s Ben Jones during the Christmas Zoo Sessions:

“Everyman appeal and melodies prove that Budd has a weather eye cocked to stadium rock posterity”

The Observer Music Monthly

“Quality song-writing that’s about to win Budd even more friends”
NME

“Accomplished debut that frames Budd’s classically wasted rocks/blues vocal”
The Fly

“Rollicking bar room rock in thrall to Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen”
Q

“This boy is going to be as big as fellow Leicester lads Kasabian.”
The Sun
